The Role
We are looking for a full time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The role is 5 days a week (varied start times between 7am-12pm and finish times between 4pm and 9pm depending on shift) with the occasional Saturday morning (1 in 4 or 5) and 2nd on call rota 1 week in 6. Currently no further OOH. The days vary depending on the shift, you could be working in kennels looking after long term in-patients and pre and post op, or in theatre, so prepping patient for surgery, monitoring anaesthetics through to recovery, performing tests in the lab or maybe a stint on reception. Running nurse clinics, assisting vets where required in consults and helping with puppy parties (when covid allows) is also part of the role.
About Us
AlphaPet is a small animal practice, situated between the beautiful South Downs and the sunny Sussex coast. Established 27 years ago, we have a main surgery in a busy precinct adjacent to a large playing field. 2 smaller branches are located about a 20 minute drive away. One on a farm and the other part of a stables. All sites have ample free car parking. Mod cons include Ultrasound, Endoscopy and Digital X-ray. We see a lot of wildlife and work closely with a local wildlife hospital.
AlphaPet currently has 4 vets, though we are in the process of building up the team. We also have 8 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 4 ANAs. Nurse certificate holders in ECC & Anaesthesia. We're a friendly team who love socialising outside work when Covid allows! Our staff regularly fundraise for various charities in different ways. Over the years we have climbed the 3 peaks, descended Arundel Castle, run marathons and even sponsored a Disney themed concert! We've helped with local beach cleans and litter picks. For many years we hosted an Animal Fun Day and Dog Show, raising thousands of pounds for local and national animal charities.
