The Role

We are seeking an Assistant Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Medivet Evegate (Montgomery Vets) to replace a colleague who has left to work in a RSCPA wildlife hospital.

The ideal candidate will be confident sole charge, with ideally at least 2 years’ experience. This position would suit a confident Veterinary Surgeon with GP experience and excellent client and communication skills. You will be able to work along side 2 zoo/exotic medicine certificate holders.

Ideally, candidates would have an interest in exotic species, as this practice are specialists in this field. S trong mentorship and support will be available to help you develop your career and get the most satisfaction from your job.

This role will function in an environment where colleagues support each other, by sharing skills and knowledge, to give our patients the best outcomes. In return, we will provide strong mentorship, a fantastic package and the chance to be involved in cases using state-of-the-art technology. We provide all this whilst you continue to develop your career and get the most job satisfaction.

The successful candidate will work 40 hours a week. The shift pattern includes 1:3 Saturdays.

Salary & Benefits:

Very competitive salary of up to £40,000 pro rata

£1,500 pro rata CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave, and in-house CPD training

VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

Skills and Experience

You must be a Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS.

The Branch

Medivet Evegate (Montgomery Vets) offers a range of services for their patients, including neutering, vaccinations and microchipping. The practice also has access to other services that the Medivet group offers, such as MRI, ECG and CT Imaging.

This is a small and friendly practice that prides itself on exceptionally high standards of care. The case load is small animal with some exotic referrals/wildlife. The clinic is purpose build, providing an excellent working environment that is also great for patients. Here, both staff and clients are valued highly and the service is designed to be outstanding and personalized for each patient.

The practice is located in a rural area near Ashford in Kent, a village that is proud of its history and heritage. The coast is a mere 20 minute drive away, where you will find the Hythe seafront, restaurants and bars.
