OOH Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an OOH Veterinary Nurse to join our team. You will be providing high standard inpatient, emergency and critical care to our own inpatients and inpatients from a small number of member practices. This is in addition to general nursing duties. There will be opportunity to rest during quiet periods. The role is part time, working 2 days per week (12 hours shifts) 7.30pm to 7.30am Thursday and Friday with no weekends.

About Us

We are a friendly RCVS accredited small animal hospital with our own dedicated out of hours service. We work to extremely high standards of patient care, with separate cat and dog wards, in-house laboratory and laparoscopic equipment. We have recently been awarded outstanding in all six RCVS practice standard awards

We have four out of hours vets and four out of hours nurses to cover the weekdays and weekends out of hours periods plus five day vets and five day nurses. There are also Animal Nursing Assistants to assist with patients at the weekends.

Applicant Requirements

You will be a qualified RVN with experience of working in an out of hours or emergency and critical care environment. You will be comfortable assisting vets in a surgical environment and monitoring anaesthesia. You will also have excellent communication and customer care skills when dealing with our clients in person or over the phone and be comfortable taking calls, triaging and also taking payments from clients.
