Mobile Veterinary Care Assistant – Kensington

Job Description

About Us

We’re a community of passionate veterinary professionals committed to providing truly exceptional care.

We’re set on building something extraordinary: creating the most forward-thinking and innovative place in the veterinary industry.

We’re always looking for people who aspire to stand out in their field, and it’s this vision and enthusiasm that forms the foundation of how we work. Our mission to deliver progressive, around the clock care means our employees have the very best equipment and treatment options available, including in-house MRI machines and state-of-the-art operating theatres.

We provide ongoing support to our teams, both in practice and through our dedicated training centre. This empowers you to get the very best from our advanced equipment while being on your journey to veterinary excellence.

The Role

Our Veterinary Care Assistants, known as Patient Care Assistants are an integral part of the team in practice. You will typically be supporting 4-6 practices performing a variety of duties, such as ensuring the practice maintains high clinical standards throughout, maintaining kennels and the general environment following cleaning protocols, feeding animals, animal handling and behaviour, reporting back to and assisting nurses with patient care and preparing medical equipment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in looking to pursuing a career as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in future and offers an excellent insight to what it means to be an exceptional nurse.

We are committed to supporting you and will provide full on the job training, led by a qualified buddy.

We are looking for dedicated, professional colleagues who show a real passion and positive attitude in every duty they perform. If you work hard and show your commitment to progressing further within your career, we are committed to fully supporting your career development and will financially support you on your journey to becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse by progressing onto college as a Student Veterinary Nurse.

43 hours a week and 1:3 weekends

Skills and Experience

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to hold a full UK driving licence.

The successful candidate will have plenty of hands on experience with patients including walking dogs and TLC with cats; any previous experience working within a veterinary practice or rescue centre (voluntary or paid) is advantageous.

We are looking for colleagues who demonstrate commitment and a positive attitude. Enjoy working within busy environments and within a team, however, must show confidence when working alone as and when required; demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to work and happy to get stuck in where ever needed.

Required:

Applicants must hold 5 GCSE’s at grade C / 4 or above to include Maths, English Language and a Science and be in possession of examination certificates.

Alternatively, City & Guilds will accept alternative qualifications, e.g. Veterinary Care Assistant Certificate, Animal Nursing Assistant Award or National Diploma in Animal Care – you will still be required to provide proof of GCSE Maths and English and provide the original certificates.

If you have taken your qualifications abroad, we will require a NARIC comparison.

Please list your qualifications and grades on your CV, including Maths and English and upload your certificates. This will ensure a smooth and faster recruitment process. If you are unable to provide evidence of the entry certificates required, we will not be able to proceed forward with your application at this stage.
