The Role

We are seeking an experienced, friendly and enthusiastic mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join our excellent team. We are proud to offer our own OOH to our own clients. OOH is on a shared (1:4) rota, working with dairy, beef, sheep and companion animals. The successful applicant would also be expected to participate in organising farmer meetings (e.g. Flock Health Club). There would be plenty of scope to develop own interests. Opportunity and funding for a certificate is fully funded and supported

About Us

Border Vets is a mixed dairy, beef & sheep commercial farm practice with lowland, upland and hill units in the beautiful North Cumbria / Dumfriesshire borders. Eden Vets is a dedicated companion animal practice, easily accessible to the Lake District, North Pennines and Scottish Borders. We are a a 7 Vet and 4 Nurse team with great support staff. We have our own residential on-call nurse.

Applicant Requirements

Candidates should be comfortable with Bovine & Ovine Caesarian section, Bovine LDA, Cleat removal, Fertility visits & Mastitis investigations and Herd & Flock health planning. They should also be comfortable with 1st opinion equine work and Companion Animal emergency care. Interests in a specific discipline would be encouraged. Familiarity of semen evaluation in the Bull and Ram would also be advantageous, along with OV Essential skills & Tuberculin Testing. General Ungulate Export and Companion Animal export experience would also be welcome. A Driving Licence is required for this role.
