Pride Veterinary Centre offers a range of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our diagnostics and treatments are second to none and we have many highly trained and experienced colleagues to ensure that our patients receive the very best treatment. We strive to deliver world class patient care and our fantastic facilities provide a superb care environment, including 13 consultation rooms, 7 hospital wards, 5 theatres, full advanced imaging suite, 3 ultrasound rooms, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills and dedicated chemo & radio-iodine treatment rooms define the setting.

The Role

The working hours for this role are varied and could be between 8am and 5.30pm (with one late working until 7pm). You will be required to take part in the weekend rota working a 1 in 6 full weekends from 7.45am to 6pm, 2 lieu days would be given the following week in exchange for the weekend work. We have a bank holiday rota in place which means our nursing team are required to work 1 or 2 bank holidays a year. There would also be a requirement to take part in the night cover and on call rota, further information on this would be discussed at interview.

Medicine is a busy and demanding discipline, yet challenging, exciting and rewarding. In this role you will work in various areas of the hospital, concentrating mainly in X-ray, ultrasound, CT and endoscopy. You will require a high level of skills to enable the best care for our patients who are often in need of intensive care in our ICU department. As a medicine nurse you will play a diverse role from placing IV catheters, drug calculations/preparation, anaesthesia, and sedation monitoring during procedures, including CVT and endoscopy.

Applicant Requirements

For this role, we require you to be a registered veterinary nurse with experience in an inpatient care role as well as busy hospital environment. The role is very fast paced and therefore the suitable candidate will need to be able to organise and prioritise their work lives whilst remaining professional and confident at all times.
