The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our Burton-on-Trent practice in Staffordshire.

This role is working 4 days per week, you will also be part of a 1:3 or a 1:6 full weekend rota.

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As well as your day to day duties within practice caring for your patients and clients, you will play a key role in leading and managing the team. You will have the drive and ambition to develop the practice client base, ensuring high standards of care are always delivered.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively and empathetically, such as good communication skills, mediation experience, and the ability to share knowledge and lead by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

Salary & benefits:

Competitive salary, dependent on experience

Accommodation allowance £5,400

Vehicle or vehicle allowance £2,500

CPD allowance £1,500 plus 3 days CPD leave

VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

The Branch

Burton is a friendly practice who bond over their full practice tea breaks. The team consists of 1 other vet, 2 RVN’s and 2 PCA’s. You will also receive support from the Area Manager and Regional Director.

The practice is close to the A38 and 20 minutes from Derby city centre and less than 45 minutes away from Nottingham and Birmingham
