The Role

We are seeking a experienced receptionist to join our team at Ashby 24hr to to assist a friends team of Patient Care Assistants, Veterinary Nurses and Surgeons.

The Head receptionist (also known as Head Client Care Assistant) position is a mix of client facing responsibilities such as answering the phone, greeting clients, organising appointments, repeat prescriptions as well as managing the experienced CCA team and administrative responsibilities, working closely with the Head Nurse and Lead Vet to offer gold standard care to both patient and client.

Veterinary receptionist experience is vital for this role.

This is a fu ll time permanent position, covering 40 hours a week over 5 days. You will also be part of a weekend rota, covering 1:6 full weekends and a fair share of bank holidays.

Key Accountabilities

The duties of the Head Client Care Assistant include, but are not limited to:

Leading and managing the client care team, prompt and efficient telephone answering and service, dealing with routine client queries, making appointments, taking payments, submitting insurance claims, cashing up at end of day and end of week, banking, conversing with clients and staff members, complaint handling, taking and relaying messages, cleaning, stock taking, inputting laboratory results onto client records, maintaining and promoting Health and Safety in the reception area and other parts of the practice as required, sending and responding to emails.

The Branch

Ashby is a 24 hour central large branch practice with 3 consult rooms, 1 double surgical theatre, dental suite, digital x-ray room, prep area, separated dog and cat isolation rooms.

Digital x-ray, ultrasound, laparoscopic equipment, inhouse blood machines.

Scunthorpe is located in North Lincolnshire just off the M180 and M18 motorways allowing easy transport links to the Lincolnshire Wolds, Hull, Doncaster, Lincoln and York. It is a bustling town with restaurants, cinema, shopping parks and many other activities.

For those who enjoy country air and long walk, Scunthorpe is a stones throw away from the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the highest land between Kent and Yorkshire. In the Wold there are many quaint market villages with plenty of independent shops and history to explore.

To the East there is the popular seaside resort of Cleethorpes with many traditional seaside restaurants and activities, the boating lake, The Jungle Zoo and Cleethorpes Light Railway.
