The Role

We are seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our busy practice in Clapham, South London.

This role offers a salary of £27,573 – £28,635 plus £2000 London weighting. £300 CPD allowance plus 2 days CPD leave, RCVS and BVNA membership. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Hours are 40 per week with 1:4 weekends with time back in lieu. You will also be included on our bank holiday rota and on-call rota should our night team require additional support, this works out to be approx. 2-3 weeks of the year. These rota’s are fair share with all nurses in the region.

Key Accountabilities

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As well as your day to day duties within practice caring for your patients and clients, you will have the drive and ambition to develop the practice optimising the client and patient experience, promoting safety while training, developing and leading the entire nursing team.

You’ll also be proactive in maintaining your own professional and clinical skills, carry out accurate and timely reporting and explore ways that we can further develop our standards.

As a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll already have good knowledge of how a dynamic, practice runs efficiently and effectively. Just as important are the leadership skills essential to enabling your team to work as one and look ahead to see how they can be even better.

Skills and Experience

-Registered Veterinary Nurse as defined by RCVS
-Confident with proven ability to communicate effectively and build client relationships
-Demonstrate initiative in patient welfare
-Competent understanding of duties that may and may not be undertaken by PCA’s or Student Nurses

The Branch

Medivet Clapham is a busy three Vet branch in Abbeville Village in the heart of Clapham, South London. All Vets have over 10 years’ experience with certificates in cardiology and endosurgery.

This branch performs a high volume of procedures including endoscopy, cardiac scans and lap spays, equipped with endoscopes, ultrasound, laparoscopic stack system for keyhole surgery, full in house lab, ethylene oxide sterilisation and digital x-ray. We support the Fear Free concept so that our patients grow to love us, note fear us.

This role will lead a team made up of RVN, SVN and two Client Care Assistants.

The branch is situated about 10 mins walk from both Clapham Common and Clapham South. There are also several nearby bus routes.
