The Role

Are you looking for the next step in your career or want to move from a fast paced hospital to a slightly slower speed practice? Our family friendly practice in Leyton, East London are looking for a full time Head Nurse to join our team. Our current Head Nurse Danielle wants to concentrate on clinical work and building our nurse consults. Training will be provided if you have not been a Head Nurse or managed a team before and you will have the full support from the Clinical Director, Practice Manager and current Head Nurse Danielle.

We offer an excellent work life balance with 40 hours a week, which can be negotiated, no OOHs or Sundays. It is rare to leave late, lunch times are protected and admin time is set aside for senior team members. Saturdays are limited to cover holiday. Emma Whitaker, the Clinical Director, believes life and values outside of work are important so works hard to try to ensure the team are supported to maintain a balance.

As the Head Nurse you will be in charge of the rota and ensuring the practice needs are met alongside those of our team. You will also be in charge of developing the nurse team in their skills and education which we will back with CPD, lunch and learns and any other training routes you think will help the team. You will also help with pay roll and organising holidays and cover. We will provide any training you need and will always be there to back you up.

CPD and additional training to further your career are actively encouraged and funded. We are always keen to hear good ideas and are happy to help motivated staff work on projects that interest them.

About Us

Midlands has been part of the local community for over 30 years. Our team of 4 vets work alongside a valued team of nurses (4 RVN and 1SVN), veterinary care assistants (2) and receptionists (3) to provide our loyal client base and patients with a warm welcome and excellent care.

We wear and provide full PPE, have clients outside currently and have managed to stay open throughout the pandemic. Staff safety is our priority.
