We offer a full range of clinical services, as well as extensive orthopaedic work, including all fracture repairs and tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) for cruciate ligament injury. Some of our equipment includes digital radiography, pulse ox/ap alert, isoflurane anaesthetics, IM3 dental machine, in house blood analysers, fluid pumps and much more.

We are looking for a Full-time Head Vet Nurse to join our team and have the responsibility for overseeing the efficient daily operation of patient care and surgical case workloads within the practice and ensuring that high levels of patient care standards and client communication are maintained.  The Head Nurse works closely with, and reports to, the Practice Manager in relation to setting and maintaining a high quality of patient care and veterinary nursing standards within the practice.  They take an active role in the hands-on and theoretical training of nursing skills to nursing and trainee staff in practice.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide effective support to veterinarians in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including anaesthetic monitoring, animal handling.
  • Maintain an excellent level of patient care and customer service at all times, treating every patient as if they were your own.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of organisation and cleanliness in the hospital and kennel areas at all times.
  • In conjunction with the Practice Manager lead and supervise the nursing team
  • Work with the Practice Manager to create and implement training plans for the nursing team
  • Uphold and be a role model of the hospital goals and culture
  • As a part of the hospital leadership team, you will contribute to assessing and updating nursing policies and procedures
  • You will also have a genuine passion for working with people and helping to support and grow your nursing team

About you:

  • Qualified veterinary nurse (Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing) with a minimum of 3 years’ clinical nursing experience.
  • Confidence in all areas of general practice nursing.
  • A genuine love for animals and their people.
  • A keen desire to deliver excellent standards of patient care and customer service at all times.
