Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to manage our nursing team. The role is a 35 hour working week, shifts 7am-3pm, 9am-5pm, 12.30-8.30pm. A good balance of clinical and administration time allocated on the rota to ensure the candidate has the time to manage the nursing team and to keep up to date with clinical work. No routine OOH or weekend work, cover for staff sickness only.

About Us

Wendover Heights is a busy small animal and equine Tier 2 RCVS accredited practice in the Chilterns, just 50 minutes from Central London. Our team consists of 10 small animal veterinary surgeons and 19 veterinary nurses, 17 of which are Registered Veterinary Nurses. We have an onsite hydrotherapy unit, all the usual x-ray/ultrasound equipment and also provide free lunches to staff and staff dog kennels so you can bring your dog to work.

Applicant Requirements

The candidate must be registered with the RCVS. Previous management experience advised due to the size of the nursing team. The candidate will ideally have several years’ experience as a registered veterinary nurse and be competent in managing the day to day running of a small animal practice, while liaising with the practice manager and clinical directors to ensure a smooth running of day to day clinical caseloads.
