We are looking for a part-time Head Veterinary Nurse to work across 5 days (26 hours) a week in our mixed practice. This includes working 1 week in 5 on call and covering a short Saturday morning clinic from 11:00–12:30. Working from Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30-19:30 dependent on shift. As the Head Nurse a degree of flexibility will be required. You will be responsible for the clinic’s standard of nursing care given and will lead by example to ensure the standards are met. You will manage the day to day running of the nursing team and support the management team to ensure the smooth running and continual improvement of the practice. Clinical coaching will also form part of this role, so a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse is required. The role will mainly be based in Arbroath, however, you will also be required to work in Forfar when required.
We are a mixed practice that has been providing veterinary care to the Angus area for over 8 years. Located in the idyllic surroundings of Angus, we are not far from major cities such as Dundee or Aberdeen. We are a tight-knit team who enjoy working hard and having fun along the way. We are continuously investing into the clinic with recent purchases of a blood analyser and new x-ray machine. We have also recently become a training practice.
You will have a Level 3 Diploma or Degree with post qualification experience. You will be competent in the following tasks; monitoring anaesthetics, venepuncture, urine collection, skin scrapes, taking/processing radiographs, performing routine laboratory procedures, maintenance of tubes and drains, gowning & gloving to assist in theatre, under veterinary direction. Clinical Coach qualification, or willingness to work towards desirable. Management or mentoring experience preferred but not essential.
