Experienced Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

The Role

One of our vets is relocating, so we are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The role is full time position, based on 4 days a week and 22 Saturday mornings. There is no out-of-ours requirement with this role. We are a VetsNow host practice, so are in the privileged situation of being able to offer 24 hour care to all our patients whilst still allowing a fantastic work-life balance to our vets. In addition to the veterinary surgeon role, there is an opportunity for additionally applying for the role of Co-Clinical Director.

About Us

We are a progressive, friendly RCVS accredited practice on the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border, with our main clinic in High Wycombe and two smaller branches in Hazlemere and Watlington. Our team is composed of 11 vets supported by an incredible team of 9 RVN and 4 SVN, alongside our wonderful PCAs and receptionists. We are a busy practice, allowing for a very varied and interesting case load, and we pride ourselves on our ability to support a range of experience – from our new graduate to our two Advanced Practitioners. We strive to offer the highest standard of clinical care to all our patients, and are lucky enough to have a very loyal client base.

We encourage our vets to build relationships with their clients, aiming to offer case continuity as much as possible. We are eager to support our vets and nurses to pursue their clinical interests for the benefit of the entire practice, and have a wonderful culture of knowledge sharing. Our practices are stocked with modern equipment, including portable ultrasound, digital radiography, in-house laboratories with blood typing and microscopy facilities, endoscopy, capnography etc. We aim to work cases up as much as possible in practice, facilitating internal referrals wherever possible – but we are also blessed to be situated within 20 minutes of two world class multi-discipline referral centres. We are also lucky to have several routinely visiting specialists, including an orthopaedic surgeon and a cardiologist.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a confident, experienced vet, who is as comfortable in theatre as in the consulting room. Patient care is at the heart of our practice, so we are looking for a team member that is keen to maintain a high clinical standard. Communication skills and team work are also of paramount importance – we have such a supportive team and would be looking for a new member to share this ethos. If you are interested in this role, or the role of Co-Clinical Director, then please do get in touch.
