The Role

We are looking for an experienced equine Veterinary Surgeon to join our practice. You must be confident with sole charge and out of hours work as we provide our own on call to our clients. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can bring their own experience and help us to provide an excellent service to our clients. The rota is a 4 or 5 day week, working 8:30am-6:30pm. We share weeknight and weekend on call on a rota.

About Us

Milan Veterinary Practice is a well-established, mixed practice with 3 branches on the Isle of Man. Our main clinic is in Douglas, with branches in Castletown and Peel. We currently have 8 vets working here, and we have an excellent team of nurses and reception staff to help support us. We have in house Idexx lab equipment, ultrasound and digital x-ray. The Isle of Man is a unique place and has lots to offer whatever your interests. There is plenty to see and do, from mountain biking and coastal walks, to lots of restaurants and pubs, a food & drink festival, agricultural shows and of course the famous TT races. Currently we are COVID free and have no on island restrictions for which we are very grateful! The maximum rate of taxation is 20%, much lower than in the UK, and the IOM Government is currently offering a National Insurance Holiday for the first year of employment here.

Applicant Requirements

The candidate must be experienced in all areas of equine ambulatory practice and be happy with sole charge and on call. They must be in a position to provide support to newly qualified vets, to help grow the experience of our team. A valid UK driving license and RCVS membership are essential.
