The Role

We are currently looking for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, forward thinking, and established team in the Highlands of Scotland. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days a week with 1 in 4 weekends and 1 out of hours night a week. We would also welcome part time applications where hours can be discussed.
Our successful candidate will be joining a dedicated team committed to clinical excellence and will have a chance to engage in equine only veterinary work in a fantastic part of the world.

About Us

Kessock Equine Vets is superbly located on the doorstep of an outdoor enthusiast’s playground close to both mountains and the sea giving easy access to skiing, mountain biking, mountaineering, climbing and water-sports. We are close to Inverness which has its own airport and good transport links. We are an ambulatory and clinic-based practice with inpatient facilities including stables, stocks, large treatment area, knockdown/recovery room, trot up and arena facilities. The practice is also fully equipped with DR – X ray, ultrasound, endoscopes, gastroscope, motorised dental equipment and shockwave. We also have frequent clinic days with regular visiting specialists.

Applicant Requirements

Our ideal candidate must be RCVS registered with equine experience and proven capabilities in lameness work ups, routine minor surgical procedures, and castrations. Training and mentoring of other team members will be a part of the role, so applicants should be happy to be involved with the development of their colleagues. We are prepared to be flexible and will consider someone who wants a leadership role or someone who still needs to develop some of their own skills.
