Overland Park Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (OPVES) is seeking Emergency Veterinarians to join our new hospital in Overland Park that will be opening in March 2021. We currently have options to work at both the Overland Park and Mission locations if desired.

We are interested in speaking with experienced ER DVMs, internship trained DVMs, and/or GP DVMs who have an interest in emergency medicine.

OPVES is an extension of Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty, which is a well-known Specialty hospital founded in 1993. We started the practice with a commitment to our RDVM’s, their clients and pets. We have not varied from that commitment. Daily communication with RDVM’s and clients is the norm for our practice. We work diligently to reinforce those interpersonal relationships that provide the cornerstone to our success. Our growth and success can be attributed to our commitment to our clients and referring veterinarians, collaboration and education.

Collaboration: Our ECC, internal medicine, and surgery departments work to create seamless transition for case management. The top priority is best care for each patient. That translates to cooperation between specialists to provide top quality care.

Catalyst for OPVES growth – We have developed our ECC department into an integral part of the business. The impact that ER DVMs and criticalists have in our patient care has resulted in substantial growth in the hospital. The expertise and innovation brought to our practice through criticalist intervention is good for patients, clients, RDVM’s, and other specialists in our hospital. The collaborative effort between our specialists affords this substantial benefit.

Training and Development – Being a true teaching hospital allows us to offer ER mentorship to new grads or GP DVMs who may be looking to transition to emergency medicine. Our mentorship program is led by our boarded Criticalist and is tailored to meet the individual needs of our mentees. Our passion about the development of others allows us to make Mission a better practice.
