Deputy Clinical Director

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to join our friendly and motivated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career and assist with running a practice. There is no OOH work. You would be required to work 1 in 4 Saturdays at our Holywell branch 8am-2pm.

As a Deputy Clinical Director, you will take a senior position within the team and be primarily based at our Prestatyn branch, although there will be the requirement to work at our Holywell practice too. You will help to oversee the day to day running at our Prestatyn branch and both branches in the Clinical Director’s absence. You will work closely with Linda, Clinical Director and Helen, Practice Manager to help plan Celyn Vet Groups future. The role is a permanent, full-time role, however part-time hours will be considered.

A large part of your duties will be clinical with a good mixture of consultations and surgery. You will be enrolled onto the IVC Evidensia Leadership Development Programme which is a fantastic learning and development course for surgeons stepping into a managerial level. Although a large part of your role will include clinical & mentoring duties, time will be allocated for any managerial/administrative duties. This opportunity offers you a fantastic stepping stone into a managerial role with the support of a superb training programme and the added benefit of managerial mentoring from an experienced Clinical Director.

About Us

We are situated in the beautiful area of North Wales. Being close to the border and the A55, it means we are well located for those who enjoy the more rural side of life, with plenty of countryside and hill walk areas, or those that prefer the city environment with Chester, Liverpool and Manchester situated not far away from us.

Celyn Vet Group have two, well-established veterinary practices in Holywell and Prestatyn. We offer high standards of first opinion care to small animals. Both practices benefit from in-house blood and lab facilities for routine work, ultrasound and x-ray facilities.

We really do value our team here at Celyn Vet Group and all of their hard work. We all pull together and support each other in the harder times and really are more like a family than co-workers. We are a team of 18 consisting of: 3 vets (one of which is our Clinical Director), 1 Practice Manager, 2 Senior Nurses, 3 RVN's, 3 SVN's, 1 Senior Receptionist, 4 Receptionists and 1 Groomer. Not only are we blessed to have such a great team, but we also have a fantastic, loyal client base. We are passionate on preventative health care and case continuity. This means you will have the opportunity to build up a strong, working relationship with your clients, as well as have the pleasure of seeing your patients grow over the years.

Applicant Requirements

The right candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon or Senior Veterinary Surgeon capable of delivering high quality and personable veterinary care but ready to also take the next step into a managerial role.

A desire to be involved in the development and growth of the practice is very important. You will need good clinical knowledge and sound judgement and the ability to mentor where required. Our case load is varied with a good mixture of consultations and surgeries. Investing in our practice, patient care and team is important to us. We would therefore be really keen to support your expertise or learning goals and potentially incorporate them into future practice services.
