The Role

We are currently looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to assist with running our group of four surgeries in East Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly, motivated team and take the next step in your career. There are no out of hours, just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and no Sundays.
As a Deputy Clinical Director, you will take a senior position within the team and be predominantly based at our Thrapston and Rushden branches, although some of your time may also be spent at our Burton Latimer and Sandy practices. You will help to oversee the day to day running of our practices and plan for the group’s future, working closely with the Clinical Director. The position is a permanent, full-time role, however part-time hours will be considered.
A large part of your duties will be clinical with a good mixture of consultations and surgery. You will be enrolled onto the IVC Evidensia Leadership and Development Programme which is a fantastic learning and development course for surgeons stepping into a managerial position. Although a large part of your role will include clinical and mentoring duties, time will be allocated for any managerial/administrative duties. This opportunity offers you a fantastic steppingstone into a managerial role with the support of a superb training programme and the added benefit of managerial mentoring from an experienced Clinical Director.

About Us

We are situated in East Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire, with practices in Thrapston, Rushden, Burton Latimer and Sandy. We all support each other and aspire to provide the highest standards in client and patient care. We have a wonderful, dedicated vet team working closely with our fantastic, experienced team of veterinary nurses and our warm and friendly support staff.
We have all the equipment you will need when you come to work in a group of quality practices. We benefit from full in-house Idexx laboratory equipment, digital x-ray, ultrasound with colour, K-Lasers, dental suite with digital x-ray, gold standard anaesthesia using Humphrey ADE circuits, multiparameter monitors, patient warming, oxygen generators and more.
Northamptonshire is a lovely rural county to live in and accommodation is plentiful and reasonably priced. Cambridge and Milton Keynes are an easy drive and London a short train journey. Applicant Requirements

The right candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon or Senior Veterinary Surgeon capable of delivering high quality and personable veterinary care but ready to also take the next step into a managerial role.
A desire to be involved in the development and growth of the practice is very important. You will need good clinical knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to mentor others. You will be experienced and confident in all first opinion duties, supportive of others and enjoy a mixture of consultations and surgeries. Investing in our practice, patient care and team is important to us. We encourage and support all CPD up to CertGP and AVP level.
