The Role

We are looking for a Deputy Clinical Director to join our friendly and motivated team! This is a fantastic opportunity to take your first steps into running your own practice, without the financial worry and with the full support of a fantastic, successful, local practice! As a Deputy Clinical Director, you will take a senior position within the team. You will oversee the day to day running of the practice and you will also work closely with Cheryl, Clinical Director & Emma, Practice Manager to help plan the practices future. A large part of your duties will be clinical with a good mixture of consultations and surgery. You will be enrolled onto the IVC Evidensia Leadership Development Programme which is a fantastic learning and development course for surgeons stepping up to a managerial level. Although a large part of your role will include clinical duties, time will be allocated for any managerial/administrative duties. We would be happy to discuss adjusting the amount of managerial/administrative duties to increase or decrease these, depending on your preference and experience. If you have always wanted to run your own practice but haven’t had previous experience then this opportunity offers you a fantastic stepping stone in to a managerial role with the support of a successful local practice, a training programme and working alongside an experienced Clinical Director. About Us

Bridge Street Vets was established in 2013 but in a relatively short time has become a very well respected and most recommended practice in the town largely due to our people orientated approach. Bridge Street Vets is located in a former doctor’s surgery, which has been redesigned to make a spacious, light environment to work in. We have fantastic facilities including; Two consulting rooms with height adjustable tables (with a third planned), two waiting areas, separate dog and cat inpatient wards, isolation ward, imaging room, with digital x-ray processor and ultrasound scanner In house IDEXX haematology and biochemistry analysers, dedicated operating theatre, large preparation area, dental station with nitrogen powered air tools and ultrasonic scaler. In addition, we have our own fully equipped ‘Sunshine Groomers’ salon with two full time groomers employed by the practice. The south facing gardens to the rear provide us with the ideal place for a quiet and relaxing sunny summertime lunch breaks. We have a fantastic 3 Vet team at Bridge Street Vets. Our Vet Surgeons are dedicated and passionate about great standards. Bridge Street Vets are keen on professional development and mentoring and have been a VN training practice for many years now. Our Nurses and support team form the backbone of a well-run and organised practice. We see a varied caseload which is predominantly small animals, first opinion, although we have welcomed some exotics and are keen to support interests! Driffield, a former market town at the foot of the East Yorkshire Wolds, lies between the historic city of York to the west and the picturesque East Coast sandy beaches. We are ideally placed for a broad range of pastimes and outdoor pursuits. There are local schools from infant through to sixth form within the town, and a good stock of new and traditional houses. It has its own sports centre and swimming pool, a variety of pubs and restaurants as well as many local sports clubs and societies. There is a direct railway links to Bridlington, Scarborough, Beverley, Hull, Doncaster and Sheffield with onward connections to wherever you choose to go. Being located in a lovely market town we often have the pleasure of building great rapport with our clients and seeing patients grow through their life. Applicant Requirements

The right candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon or Senior Veterinary Surgeon capable of delivering high quality and personable veterinary care but ready to also take the next step into a managerial role. A desire to be involved in the development and growth of the practice is very important. You will need good clinical knowledge and sound judgement and the ability to mentor where required. You will have some sole charge experience and be able to work as part of a team. Although we can offer a fantastic opportunity to an experienced Vet Surgeon ready to take the next step in their career, we would also be open to applications from experienced Clinical Directors too, who are looking for a more relaxed position and an increased clinical caseload, in a small, progressive practice.
