We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Director to join our practice in Widnes. This is a full-time, maternity cover position (although part time applications will also be considered) for a fixed term of 12 months commencing April 2021. The role involves working closely with the rest of the team on a day to day basis, providing clinical support and guidance where needed. You should be an experienced and competent Veterinary Surgeon who is willing to lead the team in clinical matters and help in their development. You should also be confident in dealing with HR matters, including appraisals, performance reviews and disciplinary issues where required. The role involves managing the diary and the day to day running of the clinic, being involved in the finances of the clinic and leading the progression and development of the practice. There is time set aside for administration duties alongside consultations and surgery. You will also be involved in the support of our new graduate Vets. There is no OOH or weekends. The role is ideally 4.5 days a week but part time applications will be considered. We can offer a competitive salary dependant on experience. We strive to ensure a good work/life balance.
We are a single site, purpose built, small animal practice with an excellent local reputation and the best team! We have in total 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 8 Nurses and 7 support staff. We are situated in Widnes with nearby links to Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales. As a practice we endeavour to set high standards and keep up with new developments to give the best possible service to our clients, as such we are a RCVS accredited practice. We are a nurse training practice and currently have 8 Nurses in total. Some of staff have been with the practice for many years. We have a visiting cardiologist, and ultrasonographer who attend the practice also. We have two Veterinary Surgeons who are certificate holders and another working towards hers. We have our own in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, multi parameter anaesthetic monitoring machine, ultrasound and ECG.
We are looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon with a experience and ideally an interest in surgery. A calm and friendly approach to situations is essential as well as being open, approachable and trustworthy. Being an experienced Veterinary Surgeon is also important in your leadership and guidance role. You need to have the confidence to deal with challenging situations, have good organisational skills and be able to problem solve.
