Hometown Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic is seeking a Senior Associate Veterinarian to join our practice!

Hometown Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic is a well-established clinic founded in 1999 with a special love and compassion for animals. We are looking for an experienced associate to join our 3 veterinarians and highly skilled team. As our GP and Dental clientele continues to grow, so does our need for strong clinicians. We are looking for a leader to join our team-one with a passion for the profession, leading exceptional medical and surgical practices, and modeling a commitment to providing top notch service to our loyal clientele.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for internal medicine and diagnostic imaging, and a strong desire to work up cases in a hospital that is well equipped to support gold standard medicine. Interest in mentorship is a bonus!

ABOUT OUR HOSPITAL:

  • Fully equipped in-house laboratory suite including Sedivue urinalysis reader
  • Digital dental and whole body radiology equipment. All radiographs read by a boarded radiologist through teleradiology service
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG).
  • Certified anesthesia, monitoring and surgical equipment including diode, carbon dioxide and therapy lasers.
  • Our doctors experience a diverse case load, well beyond the everyday annual vaccines and new puppy exam.
  • Dr. Jan Bellows is board certified as a dental specialist and also by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners as a canine and feline specialist. Mentorship and residencies are available at our facility.
  • Although the majority of our practice is small companion animal, we are eager to grow our exotics caseload!

JOB SUMMARY:

In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Senior Associate Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with the Managing Doctor, Associate DVMs, and supporting team. This individual advances the quality of medicine and surgery in the practice, guidance for associates, and provides exceptional client service to our clients and patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the development of the team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
  • Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
  • Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
  • Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
  • Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
  • Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
