The Role

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our busy Clapham clinic in South London.

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

We are seeking an all round experienced vet with an interest in developing surgical skills further – certificate or interest in studying for one would be preferable.

The ideal candidate will be warm, empathetic and above all, great with clients; this is a client facing role where communicating in a confident and clear manner with clients is at the heart of everything we do.

Salary and hours:

This role offers a competitive package depending on experience which includes £12,000 housing allowance, vehicle or £2,500 allowance, £1500 CPD plus 3 days CPD leave, RCVS, VDS and BVA membership. 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.

We work 39 hours across a 5-day week with a m ix of 8am-2pm, 8am-5pm and 10am-7pm shifts on 3-week rolling rota. This provides the team with excellent work-life balance across their working week.

You will work 1:3 half weekends at Clapham with flexibility to go to our Camberwell hospital. You will also be included on a bank holiday rota and on-call rota should our night team require support – this is split fairly across all Vets in the region approx. 1-3 weeks of the year.

Skills and Experience

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice.

The Branch

Clapham is a busy, three vet practice (including this role) which functions similarly to a mini hospital. Here, you will benefit from over 10 years’ experience, with certificates holders in cardiology and endosurgery.

This branch performs a high volume of procedures including endoscopy, cardiac scans and lap spays, equipped with endoscopes, ultrasound, laparoscopic stack system for keyhole surgery, full in house lab, ethylene oxide sterilisation and digital x-ray. We support the Fear Free concept so that our patients grow to love us, note fear us.

Clapham is located on a bustling high street with plenty of cafes, independent food shops and pubs. It is only a short walk to both Clapham Common and Clapham South tube stations and on many bus routes to get around the rest of London. Clapham Common is a short walk away to enjoy a lovely green space after work.
