Overview

Southern Veterinary Partners (SVP) is regional network of animal hospitals with the common goal of providing the highest quality veterinary care to companion animals. SVP currently owns over 160 locations in the Southeast, is acquiring two new locations per month and is sponsored by a leading private equity team.

SVP has a need for an AP specialist to join our rapidly growing team in Birmingham, AL. This role will become an integral part of SVP’s AP function and will be primarily responsible for the timely and accurate entry of accounts payable, maintaining and growing vendor relationships and researching various AP matters. In addition this role will be an integral part to maintaining the accuracy of the monthly financial statement reporting.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

  • Strong data entry skills facilitating the ability to process invoices within accounting software in a timely manner
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on the classification of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of financial data
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve vendor billing issues
  • Aptitude to adapt to a fast paced environment and accounting software tools
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Skilled with customer service and communication with vendors
  • Prepare & facilitate information between locations and to management as required
  • Maintain thorough organized records
