Date
Sunday 15 November 2020
8.30-5.00pm
8.30-5.00pm
Event Description
Due to overwhelming demand in 2019, Dr Howie Seim is returning to Australia with ex-pat Dr Clara Goh to offer two exciting new workshops in Sydney.
The popular format of video demonstrations followed by hands-on practical sessions for each procedure, will allow every participant to take home proven techniques which will make surgery less daunting and more successful. This course is designed to teach participants the technical aspects of a variety of feline soft tissue surgery procedures. Some ‘theory’ will be included in the lectures, but emphasis will be placed on ‘how’ to perform each procedure. The instructor will utilize video clips of clinical cases that represent the procedures participants will perform in the lab. Surgical procedures will be performed immediately after viewing the video. Ideally, the videos will be viewed in the lab so no time is wasted between seeing the procedure and then performing it on the cadaver. Topics have been chosen that represent surgical conditions frequently seen in cats and include: nasal planum and auricular resection (pinnectomy), total ear canal ablation – lateral bulla osteotomy, ventral bulla osteotomy, perineal urethrostomy - a new approach and chest drain placement.
