Event Description

Bristol Veterinary School is delighted to announce the launch of a brand-new undergraduate programme, Veterinary Science: Accelerated Graduate Entry (BVSc), commencing September 2019. This is a fast-track programme for graduates in a relevant science subject which enables completion of the BVSc in four years instead of five. Adopting current best practice in adult education and aligned with a recent call for more innovation in veterinary education, this programme is designed to support independent, self-directed, and collaborative learning. In the first two bespoke years of the programme, students will be guided through case-based, tutor facilitated teaching and learning. This approach is unique in veterinary education in the UK. Students will be taught by research-active staff (both clinical and non-clinical), in brand-new purpose-built teaching facilities based at the Langford Campus. The site also boasts first-class clinical facilities and encompasses equine and small animal hospitals, a dairy farm, diagnostic laboratories, and farm animal, small animal and equine practices. The RCVS-accredited Bristol Veterinary School has been training veterinary professionals for over 50 years. The new Veterinary Science: Accelerated Graduate Entry (BVSc) supports the School’s strategic aim to ‘deliver world-class education through programmes that are recognised globally for integrating fundamental research to build an ethos of evidence based veterinary medicine and a culture of learning through questioning and intellectual debate’.
