ZAASO is a community based registered non-profit NGO. We are primarily a Horse & Donkey Sanctuary and also run a general animal clinic where treatment can be provided.
ZAASO is situated in Zanzibar, Tanzania just off the East Coast of Africa on a tropical island in the Indian Ocean. ZAASO is based in the middle of the beautiful spice farms in the district of Kianga. This is a rural area and whilst it is only 15 km away from town it is a completely different environment. Kianga is close to all five of the major roads running through Zanzibar,
