We are a mixed-animal practice located in the beautiful Far North region of New Zealand. In fact, we are New Zealand’s most northerly veterinary clinic!
Our team consists of 1 full time mixed animal vet, 2 part-time small animal vets, and an fantastic collection of veterinary nurses, rural veterinary technicians, and administration staff. We are a close-knit team that loves to laugh. We are passionate about providing our patients with great care, and our clients with great outcomes.
Our farm animal work consists primarily of dairy cattle, with some beef cattle as well. Our companion animal clinic offers first opinion consultations, and routine surgical procedures and dentistry.
We are located in Kaitaia, the last main settlement at the top of the North Island. We enjoy a subtropical climate where temperatures lie comfortably in the 20s during summer, and rarely fall below 10°C in winter. With a population of approximately 5000, the economy is supported through forestry, agriculture and tourism. The stunning 90 Mile Beach begins nearby, with one of the world’s best left-hand surf breaks waiting to be ridden. Heading north from Kaitaia, you reach Cape Reinga, the very top of New Zealand, where the Pacific Ocean meets the Tasman Sea. The beautiful Bay of Islands lies about 1.5 hours south-east; this is steeped in New Zealand history, with the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, and Russell, New Zealand’s first permanent European settlement, being found here.
