Dogs and Cats of the Dominican Republic animal rescue (DCDR) was founded in 2013 when a number of friends decided to coordinate their efforts to help the animals on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.
This mission is being accomplished through the commitment and compassion of our volunteers, donors, and supporters.
Volunteer efforts incorporate:
Education of Dominican and Haitian pet owners, expats, and tourists
Providing basic medical support which includes parasite treatments
Providing emergency medical care
Providing foster care
Finding forever homes for animals in need
Providing emergency pet food supplies
Reducing overpopulation via spay/neuter programs
Working to enforce and strengthen animal cruelty laws
Dogs and Cats of the Dominican Republic is a U.S. 501 c 3 nonprofit, A Canadian Registered Charity and Dominican Republic Government Registered Nonprofit (NGO) all volunteer-based organization working on the north coast of the island.
